Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Toys for Tots has been operating in the United States since 1947. The Foundation was created at the behest of the U.S. Marine Corps in 1991, and has been supporting the program ever since.
What is your primary product or service?
Toys for Tots provides toys/gifts to children of families that are struggling financially to make ends meet. This new toy represents a message of hope to each child. Our hope is that these children receive that message and grow up to be responsible, patriotic citizens in their community.
The Foundation is the fund-raising and support organization for over 650 campaign sites in the United States.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
In 2008, there are over 650 Toys for Tots campaign sites in the United States. 180 of those sites are U.S. Marine Corps Reserve training centers, and the remaining 470+ are operated by caring volunteers in cities and towns where the U.S. Marine Corps is not present.
